This is the official website for everything that takes place in the Octopus Garden at A. Blair McPherson School: Music for grades K-3, Jr. Choir, and Guitar Club.

Mrs. Deo's K-3 Music program emphasizes learning through exploration and student-led inquiry through opportunities for musical free play. Teacher-led instruction is inspired by the Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly methods, and is strongly guided by a commitment to enacting a Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.

Jr. Choir introduces grades 2/3 students to the joy of singing with others and prepares them for Sr. Choir in grade 4.

Guitar Club for grades 5-9 teaches basic acoustic guitar skills such as chordal accompaniment and solo playing, and provides students with the experience of playing in a large instrumental ensemble.
